Rolling Home ’73

Rolling Home was one of Paul Witzigs last surf movies and it was an attempt to break away from the standard surf movie formula. It was a film doco of a trip across the Nullabor via Cactus to West Oz with Hawaiian surfer Reno Abellira in tow. I was lucky enough as a grommet to sneak into the private premier  screening before it was released and got to meet Witzig himself. Thought the movie lacked surfing action and from the poor reviews it got so did everyone else.
