At the 1995 Pipe Masters Kelly Slater and Rob Machado put on a extraordinary display in their semi final. Winner of this heat would win the World Title. Instead of a typical slug it out to the death type contest the pair of friends turned it into a spectacle of surfmanship and in the finish Slater narrowly defeated his good mate.
