Before Go Pros made life easy surf photographers who were up for the challenge of getting an inside angle looking out of the tube image had to mount their expensive housing and use a remote control from the land. Many photogs have paid the price for their experimentation with housings lost or smashed. This shot Pipe early 90’s shows the housing attached to the surfboard.
