Sandon Point

Sandon Point was one of the first breaks that localism was regularily enforced in Australia  . Locals had a reputaton for terrorising tourists in the 70’s. Stories of cars being stoned and broken into were plentiful. I remember paddling out one day and this guy had painted on the back of his wetsuit ” Tourists Fuck off”. Still there were days like the photo below when the Point was pumping and there was only a handful of surfers out.
