Ross Clarke Jones

In the mid 80’s Central Coast of NSW saw a lot of talent rising up in the ranks. Names like Mark Sainsbury, The Faunce Bros and Ross Clarke Jones were a few Avoca surfers  making a big impression on the amateur contest scene. RCJ had his small wave contest skills down. He was a regular finalist and feared competitor and looked destined to go hard on the Pro Tour. Everything changed when he discovered his other passion for surfing big waves. This shot of RCJ tuning up before a small contest in the mid 80’s in Sydney.
