The Whomp

For years back in the 70’s my friends and I used to surf this desolate heavy reef and nearby we used to see this other spot barreling off its nut regularily but no one ever surfed it as we thought it was unrideable. One day we decided to paddle out and eventually got the courage to takeoff and found out it was as good as it looked. Its a short heavy intense barrel and we named it The Whomp because of the sound the waves made when they hit the mushroom shaped reef . Its a pretty spooky spot surrounded by deep water, plus I forgot to mention the shark sightings are numerous and the double hold downs are brutal.
