Paradise Lost
These photos were taken on my first trip to Bali in ’78. The place was magical in every sense from sights, smells and tastes. It was still undeveloped and for the most part undiscovered. The last time I went in the 90s it had changed so much from that 1st trip it was ridiculous. Here’s how it looked back then
Kuta Beach a far cry from how it looks today.
The view of Uluwatu from the dirt track walk in.
Local Balo eyes the swell from the cliffs above.
Ulu’s cave with board carriers.
Kuta corner was only a handful of stalls, selling turtle shells, sarongs etc.
Traditional dancers.
